Allocating 2TB to a VM - 2 Questions

Hi,

We are using ESX 4.1 - with SAN Storage.

I need to create a VM, that has a (D) data drive of 2TB -

Is this the correct way of doing this?

• Create the VM - OS Disk on an existing data store (40GB)
• Create a Datastore 2TB in size -
• Create a disk 2TB on the new Datastore

Will i run into any limitations when backing up using Veeam or snapshots?

Second Question:

If i have a 2TB LUN allocated to a VM, and i need to make this Lun bigger - would i

• Create a second DataStore
• Convert the cuurent vm disk to Dynamic
• Add new Disk to VM, and extend Dynamic disk
