Hi.
I am currently using the evaluation version of vSphere, but I've been having problems enabling hardware iSCSI. The ESX server has a QLogic 405 HBA that is listed on Configuration -> Storage Adapters. I can add a portal on dynamic discovery but the rescan returns nothing.
If I enable software iSCSI I can discover my targets without no problems. One thing I noticed is that under Configuration -> Licensed Features the product feature "iSCSI Usage" is not present.
Is there any restriction for the evaluation version of vSphere on hardware iSCSI?, am I missing a configuration step on ESX 4.0?
If I try to add a static target on the Hardware HBA I get the following message from the VI Client:
Add SCSI static SCSI target
192.168.3.105
Error during the configuration of the host: Add Static
target failure on HBA vmhba1, Target
192.168.3.202:3260:iqn.dg.com:vsphere-dvol_external
- iScsiLibException: status(c0000000): Invalid
parameter; Message= IMA_AddStaticDiscoveryTarget
root
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
