Hi there,
Last night I wanted to expand the data HDD on one of our servers. Because it was not the first time that I have done something like this, I was confided that it would go well.
Expanding the HDD procedure went well, but Windows didn’t quite get it. As it can been seen in the attached image, the HDD has been expanded with 50GB bringing the total to 75GB but the capacity of the HDD is still stuck at 25GB. Rebooting the server didn't solve the problem.
I also checked the VMware KB article 1007266 on how to extend partitions in Windows to see if I did something wrong. But everything that I have done has been done the way it should.
Could someone tell me what to do now? Windows still thinks that the HDD is no more then 25 GB, so it’s not possible to add more than 25GB off data to it.
We are using VMware ESX 4.0.0 and the guest machine is a Windows Server Enterprise 2008 SP2 64-bit
