Hi,
i've been searching around a lot and I wasnt able to find an answer on what should be the value of this advanced setting: Mem.VMOverheadGrowthLimit
We took over an infrastructure and the value of Mem.VMOverheadGrowthLimit in the host profile is 0. But when you start with a fresh installation of an ESX4.1, we saw that the "default" value of Mem.VMOverheadGrowthLimit is "4294967295 MB".
So my question, what should be the value, our MAX ESX Ram or something else. We suspect that the value that was set in the host profile isnt there for nothing.... but we want to validate if we keep like that or set it to something else.
FYI, our ESXs have 98GB of RAM if it makes a difference.
I saw two KBs that mention Mem.VMOverheadGrowthLimit, but one of them doesnt apply to ESX4.
Thank you
Alex
