Distributed Switch uplink problem - vim.dvs.DistributedVirtualPort is not available

Hi all,

I am trying to add another physical link to a distributed switch uplinks.

The story unfolded as per below:

- default ESX 4 build created with 'standard' virtual switch with pNIC 0 uplink & console port running through this switch

- new distributed switch created with separate port groups for console, VMkernel & VM traffic

- pNIC 1 assigned as an uplink for distributed switch

- new console & VMkernel ports successfully created on the distributed switch

- legacy console & VMkernel ports successfully migrated from 'standard' virtual switch with to the distributed switch

- deleted 'redundant' console & VMkernel ports on the distributed switch, so there is only one of each kind left

- 'standard' virtual switch successfully deleted

- when trying to add pNIC 0 (which is displayed as unclaimed) as the second uplink for the distributed switch following error occurs:

The resource vim.dvs.DistributedVirtualPort is not available in vim.DistributedVirtualSwitch dvSwitch

Hints / tips / suggestions?

Regards,

Radek
