Error setting up iSCSI

I have two ESX 4.1 U1 hosts in my environment. Recently purchase a Dell Equallogic SAN PS4100 and having problems getting one of the servers to communicate with it. Following the procedure online (and even with our Dell Support Rept), configuring the software iSCSI adapter on one of the servers, I receive the following error:

Call "HostStorageSystem.UpdateSoftwareInternetScsiEnabled" for object "storageSystem-36" on vCenter Server "[vCenterHost].[domain]" failed.
Operation failed, diagnostics report: Unable to load module /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/iscsi_vmk: Failure

The other server works without problems and I have already migrated all of the VMs to the SAN.

Here is what I find very odd. The first step is to enable the iSCSI port (3260) in the firewall. I am doing this through the Configuration tab and Security Profile. I add the exception to the list and confirm even hours later it is present. In attempting to add the Storage Adapter, once I receive the error above, if I return to the Security Profile page, the firewall exception has been removed.

The server I am having problems with is a Dell r710 with BIOS version 2.0.13 (version reported under vCenter, but I do not believe it is correct) There are no hardware warnings. The server has 8 NIC ports (4 embedded and 4 using a PCI expansion). 4 ports are cabled to a Dell Switch (vLAN for the ISCSI device[192.168.130.x]) and the other 4 ports are assigned to the internal vLAN [192.168.0.x].  The server that is working is the Dell 2950 III with BIOS version 2.7.0, also without hardware warnings. This server has two NIC ports (both embedded). One assigned to the vLAN iSCSI traffic and one for regular internal traffic.  The iSCSI switch is a Cisco SG300.

I am using vCenter but have also tried connecting to the host in question directly and still was unable to complete the installation of the iSCSI software adapter. Using Version 4.1.0 build 348481 of ESX vSphere 4 Essentials.

Not sure what other information you may need to know. Would really like to get this issue resolve. Dell SAN support has not come across this issue and therefore has no resolution.   They were involved throughout the process in configuring the vLANs, Switch, ESX hosts and SAN.

Thanks for any assistance,
