We have a client that would like to put a HP Data Protector Cell Manager and Media server on a VM on 4.1 According to HP the Cell Manager is supported on a VM. We would just like to find out if a HP MSL 2024 SAS attached library is supported by VMware.
In other words, can this SAS library be “presented” to the VM on a particular ESX host to be used as a media server. I know we won’t be able to VMotion the VM etc, but this is an issue we can deal with.
Can’t see anything regarding compatibility on the MSL 2024 on VMware’s site.
