VMWare Direct Path I/O on IBM x3250 M3 - supported?

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking for resources to confirm that VMWare Direct Path I/O is supported on the IBM x3250 M3 Server.  From what I understand, the Direct Path I/O works based on 3 prerequisites:

1. Processor - must support VT-d. x3250 M3 Processors support VT-d. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42931

2. Chipset - must support Virtualization Technologies.Server boards chipset is Intel 3420, and supports directed I/O. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42931

3. BIOS - ?? . No information from IBM nor VMWare if it has been tested.

My question would be, is it safe to assume that given 1 and 2 are supported, that it follows that VMWare Direct Path I/O is supported?
