Removing iSCSI Dynamic Target

Hello,

Long story short I have been trying to get my Infortrend ES16-R1130 iSCSI array to work with vSphere but thus far have not been able to. I am able to map the LUN and at one point I was able to add it as a datastore and browse it. Since then the paths have become dead. I checked the vmkernel log and find repeated entries that say this:

Sep  7 15:01:17 CK-ESX02 vmkernel: 154:22:19:01.586 cpu4:4222)WARNING: NMP: nmp_DeviceAttemptFailover: Retry world failover device "naa.600d023100040def00000000506b1728" - failed to issue command due to Not found (APD), try again...

At this point I am trying to remove this array as an iSCSI target and start over.

Couple questions:

There is 1 non-running VM that was vmotion'd to this datastore. I have since lost connectivity to the array for some reason. If I remove the datastore from the host, am I going to lose this VM? Presumably I will remap to the existing LUN on the array and hopefully 'see' the VM again. Am I correct on this?

From vSphere Client, I try to remove the array's controller IP address from Dynamic Discovery on my iSCSI Software Initiator and it just hangs forever. Do I need to remove the Datastore first?
