Issue adding iSCSI visable storage via vSphere (direct on host or vCenter)

Hello all,

I am having a strange issue when I try and add a second iSCSI disk to my ESX 4.1 host. The storage is visable but when I go to add it via the add storage wizard I get the following error message:

Call "HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreCreateOptions" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESX "172.16.10.221" failed.

As shown below:

The error is the same wether I try to add it via vSphere connected to vCenter or connected directly to the ESX 4.1 Host.

The funny thing is I have a smaller iSCSI target on the same iSCSI storage that is working fine.

Here is my networking config:

And here is my storage adapter config:

I have also attached my vmkiscsid.log file from the esx host.

I believe what is happeneing is that the ESX host is trying to grab and format the storage via the service console port instead of the iSCSI port that I created but I could be wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Manny Pell.
