This is a white box testing build based on an Intel DP55WG board with an I5 quad core CPU.
There are two SATA drives and a broadcom NetXtreme BCM5751 nic. It's
the only physical nic in the system (onboard nic is disabled).
It's connected to a known good access port on a Cisco switch.
I have double and triple checked the IP address, netmask, and gateway.
There is physical layer link.
I can ping the local host and IP address from the physical console, but nothing else on the subnet, including the gateway.
I've turned off the firewall on the ESX host for trouble shooting purposes.
I have a similarly configured ESX 3 server that works just fine on this switchport.
I get absolutely zero layer three communication and I'm about ready to give up.
