The strangest thing i came across today (or maybe not). I am running ESX 4.0 in my test environment. I try to create a new Virtual Machine. Everything seems to go well. Once the VM is created - i browse the datastore and there is NO -flat.vmdk file.
The VM Directory contains a .vmdk file which is of the exact same size i specified for the virtual disk (8 GB). This is not supposed to happen - is it ?
I look into the --CONFIGURATION section of the vmware.log file and i see the following entry :
scsi0:0.filename = TestVM.vmdk (and not TestVM-flat.vmdk)
what's going on ?
