How to add hot swap sata hard drive

Specs:

Server:33650 M3

OS: ESXi 4.1.0

RAID config: RAID 0

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a 500GB hot swap hard drive, based on the above specs, how do i configure it to become a data store? VM host cant seem to detect the new hard drive even if i try to rescan for a new storage it seems to be not detected. Do i need to mount it using CLI? because i remember when i set up the esxi 4.1 host i have to mount the optical drive before it gets recognized. Please help.
