Moved VM machine to a different esxi host getting error msg "A virtual Machine or a template having the same name is already registered."

I have copied a vmmachine from a different esxi host to a new esxi host.

after going to summary tab and right clicking on datastore1 and selecting Browse Datastore I am able to locate the vmmachine I have copied over. it is called rwcvrgrpii01q. then I would go into this folder and right click on rwcvrgrpii01q.vmx and select add to inventory.

after that I would get Add to Inventory screen and would ask for the name of the machine click next and after I click finish this is the error msg I am getting.

Register VM

A virtual Machine or a template having the same name is already registered.

Server error: The specified key, name,or identifier already exists.

I tried to change the vmmachine name to something different and I would still get the same error msg.

if I remember correctly it might be the second time I am running this vm machine on this hosts. the first time I tried it not all the files related to this vmmachine was not copied. so I had to delete the files and re-copy the files for the vm machine and retry but after recopying this is the error msg I am getting.

Could it be related to a cache value somewhere. I do have ssh access to the esxi host. and I  wasn't able to find anything.

I would appreciate it if anyone could give me any hints or pointers.

Best Regards
