Hi,
I've discovered a major snapshot issue on one of our VM's.....
We were using Veeam to back up our infrastructure but after having nothing but problems with them and their software I have decided to implement vRanger. All is working well apart from one machine, Quest had a look at the vCentre machine remotely and discovered that the machine in question is running on a snapshot - it's a temporary snapshot produced by Veeam.
I can't delete the snapshot, it comes up with an error saying:
'The operation is not allowed in the current state'
We have verified that the VM is running on the snapshot by viewing the VMX file, and the snapshot has grown to 28GB.
I need to get rid of this so that we can back up the machine, does anyone know any ways of doing this without destroying the machine? Quest have said that creating a new snapshot of the machine then comitting all of them should resolve the issue but they can't guarantee the state that the machine will be in after this is done.
I would be grateful of any help/advice anyone can offer!!!!
Thanks
Adam
