How to use SDLT Tape Drive in VM guest OS

at now i have HP DL380 G5 Server running windows 2003 Ent. with HP PCI-E SC11xe Host bus adapter that connected directly tp SDLT Tape Drive as backup server and use for backup operation.

i want to move physical backup server to vmware host and use EMC AX4 to have online backup and use SDLT Tape Drive to take backup offline,

my question is how can i use SDLT Tape Drive in vm guest os and vmware knows "HP PCI-E SC11xe Host bus adapter "  or no.

please let me know how can do this.
